Floyd County Sheriff’s Department Drug Toss Program in Partnership with Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Floyd County Sheriff’s Department along with Floyd Memorial Hospital is proud to announce the installation of drug-toss boxes located in Floyd County, Indiana. These boxes are available to the public to dispose of safely unused or unwanted medications 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This program is intended to combat drug abuse and environmental pollution.
The two boxes are located at:
Floyd County Sheriff’s Department
311 Hauss Square, New Albany, Indiana 47150
Located in the Jail Lobby Area
Floyd Memorial Hospital
1850 State Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150

While we are required by program guidelines to monitor the boxes, the individuals who place medications in it will remain anonymous. We are unable to take medications taken by injection through the drop box, needles, or any medications containing mercury.
The drugs will be removed from the boxes by the Floyd County Sheriff’s department and taken to a vendor for proper disposal that eliminates the negative effects on the environment.
