General Information

Floyd County Sheriff's Department has been operating since 1819 and is responsible for the police protection, jail, and courts of our 150 square mile area. Within our department are several divisions, but one team that each and every day strives to combat crime, work with our citizens to deter crime, and maintain a safe and secure jail facility.

 

The current Sheriff in Floyd County is Frank Loop and was elected to his first term in 2015. Indiana has a 2 term limit for Sheriff's positions and they Sheriff's elected serve 4 years.
