Floyd County Corrections and Jail Division provides officers and staffing for the Floyd County Courts and Jail. The Floyd County Jail is a 234 bed facility that houses pre-trial detainees and some convicted state offenders. We currently hold Federal, ICE, and Military holds as well. Comprised with Corrections Officers, Medical Staffing, and Civil Process Officers, Floyd County Corrections is one of the largest divisions of the Floyd County Sheriff's Department.

Captain Steve Wheeler
Jail Commander - Floyd County Jail
Captain Steve Wheeler has been with the Floyd County Sheriffs Office since 2003 and has been in administration since 2011. He has held positions of field training officer, shift supervisor, hostage negotiator, and administrator. His primary duties are the day to day operations of the jail and staff.
Lieutenant Andrew Sands
Assistant Jail Commander - Floyd County Jail
Lieutenant Sands has been in the administration of the Floyd County Jail since 2011 and served as the assistant jail commander from late 2009 to 2011. He was hired as a corrections officer in 2007. He has held positions of Shift Supervisor, CERT Commander, and Court Security Officer. His primary daily duties are those of the support divisions and training.
